Microsoft has made an important step toward supporting the latest iteration of its development platform, Visual Studio 2010, with the upcoming version of the .NET Micro Framework. Developers can start testing the first Beta of.NET Micro Framework version 4.1 immediately, a release focused on delivering compatibility with Visual Studio 2010, as previously reported. Of course, there are additional enhancements planned for .NET Micro Framework 4.1, and the Beta development milestone offers an excellent opportunity to test-drive the new features.


“This is our first post-Open Source release and includes our first fixes and features contributed by the community. In addition, there are a number of enhancements done by the NETMF team here at Microsoft and there are new processors available from a new partner,” a member of the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework team revealed.

Most importantly, early adopters that want to test-drive .NET Micro Framework 4.1 Beta are encouraged to offer feedback on their experience. At the same time, testers should remember that.NET Micro Framework 4.1 is now an open source project, and, as such, they are free to contribute to its evolution. As it is the case with a majority of projects in development from the Redmond company, .NET Micro Framework 4.1 Beta is available for download through Microsoft Connect. Testers will need a Windows Live ID to sign in and access the Beta program for the next version of the.NET Micro Framework.

Here is a list of changes for .NET Micro Framework 4.1 Beta, according to Microsoft:

How To Hack Windows Experience Index Values in Windows 7/Windows Vista

Windows Experience Index was introduced in Windows Vista, back then the top score was 5.9. Now in Windows 7 Microsoft has increased the top score to 7.9 for balancing out some of the new recent emerging hardware like Solid State Drive, quad core, hex core CPUs and more.

Here Is How You Can Change the WEI Score

Go to C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore find the file started with Formal.Assessment . WinSAT

Open the file for edit (if you only have the “Initial” then open that for edit, if you have a “Recent” open the most recent one)

Before opening the file for editing, take full ownership of the file.

Search for the String “SystemScore” from there you can change the value in between the tag. You can also change all the following values for Memory, CPU, GPU and disk scores etc.

Once you’ve done that save the file and go back to the System page in the control panel. Woooha !

Speed Up Your Internet Connection by Reducing Your Systems reserved Bandwidth

  Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc 
To completely omit this 20% of bandwidth. Edit in Group Policy

Start –> Run –> gpedit.msc {this will lopens Group Policy}

In Group Policy go to Local Computer Policy –> Computer Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> Network –> QOS Packet Scheduler –> Limit Reservable Bandwidth(Double Click here this “Limit Reservable Bandwidth”) 

It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the ‘Explain‘ tab i.e."By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."

So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

To shutdown remotely your machine. Create a file called 


"RemoteShutdown.js" consisting of the following single line: (new

on your desktop or anywhere else convenient. When you want to 


shut down your machine remotely, double-click the file and select 


your desired shutdown option.

Saving Embedded files from Internet Explorer | saving flash and other files which is embedded from Internet Explorer | tips & tricks

a. Click Tools – Internet Options 

b. In the General Tab, click the Settings button available in the Temporary Internet Files group. 

c. Click View Files to open your Temporary Internet Files folder. Depending upon your IE settings, the Temp. folder can contain tens of thousands of files. 

d. Click View – Details. Now click View – Arrange Icons By – Internet Address. Depending upon the webpage, there could one or more Flash files (Shockwave Flash Object) under the Inernet Address. 

e. Once you find the right flash file, right-click and choose Copy. Then paste the swf file in any other directory. Be sure to keep the page and IE open to avoid purging of the cache file. 
For newbies, I suggest the following approaches: 

1. Get a download accelerator like Flashget and tell it to automatically download the shockwave extention (*.swf) 

2. Or download a free IE plug-in for saving flash files.

Shutdown your PC with Timer

Procedure 1:

1. Right click on your desktop and choose "New=>shortcuts". 
2. In the box that says "Type the location of the shortcut", 
type in "shutdown -s -t 3600" without the quotation marks and click next. Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , 60secs*60mins=3600secs. 
3. Make up a name for the shortcut and you’re done. 
You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse 

TO ABORT: 
To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make 
the "location of the shortcut" to " shutdown -a" without the quotes.

Procedure 2:

Here is another trick to shutdown at a specific time, for example you wish to shutdown at 11:35am. Type this in 
start=>Run 
Type Code: at 11:35 shutdown –s 

TO ABORT: 
Code:shutdown -a

Greatly Increase Your Virtual RAM 
This makes your computer faster by using part of your HD space as virtual RAM. ( Takes around a gigabyte of space,when initialized. but still speeds up your computer greatly!) 
If your HD has less than 20GB of free space left then don’t do this. 
Alright, this is how you do it: 
Instructions:

1. Right Click on "My Computer" icon and select "Properties". 
2. Click on the Advanced tab. 
3. Under Performance, click Settings. 
4. Then click the Advanced tab on the button that pops up.

5. Under Virtual Memory at the bottom, click Change. 
6. Click the Custom Size button. 
7. For the initial size (depending on your HD space), type in anywhere from 1000-1500 (although i use 4000), and for the Maximum size type in anywhere from 2000-2500 (although i use 6000). 
8. Click Set, and then exit out of all of the Windows. 
9. Finally, restart your computer. 
10. You now have a faster computer and 1-2gb of virtual RAM!
